The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority published a magazine that was not being picked up by passengers and required a significant subsidy.
Approach
The Magazine Group repositioned Washington Flyer and created a lively consumer magazine that promotes travel from Dulles and Reagan National, updates passengers on airport information, and informs travelers on what's new in Washington.
The Magazine Group also launched Arrivals Online and Arrivals Television.
Arrivals Online is a touch-screen system used by thousands of people every month, instantly providing travelers with concise information about local transportation, restaurants, accommodations and other travel topics.
Arrivals Television offers travelers entertaining and informative programming while they wait for their luggage.
The Magazine Group's comprehensive media package has been a win/win for MWAA and its passengers, and no longer requires a MWAA subsidy.
